Drain Pans for Water Heaters

Water heater drain pans, commonly called water heater pans or drip pans, are shallow, large-diameter pans that sit under water heaters to catch unexpected leaks and prevent flooding. Drain pans should be 2" wider than the water heater and include a hole where a drain fitting is inserted. PVC pipe or tube attaches to drain fitting and diverts water to a nearby drain until repairs are made.
